Since I was four I had the wonderful privilege to travel a great deal of the world and since then hadn’t stopped doing so. With parents that loved travelling it was probably unavoidable.

I guess that was where I fell, head over heels, in love with travelling.

If you are not a traveller you may ask: Why do you like it so much?

I would like to quote Miriam Beard on this:

“Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.”

Travelling changes you. The way you look at things and people. You start appreciating things more.

It opens up doors for you in so many ways; it creates immeasurable friendships for live; it makes you appreciate and stare in fascination at people you might ignore at home; it shows you that the other side of the “country-fence” is not always necessarily greener than your side, just different; it broadens your general knowledge and insights in life; your observing senses get sharpened and it will always, I mean always make you hunger for more traveling.

Once that bug has caught on, it hangs on like a stubborn tick to the neck of a mule.

While travelling, I love letting my senses do what they do best—observe. There is no better time than while travelling to let them loose like a herd of wild horses.  I guess that is why travelling has such a grip on my life.  It is only once you start travelling that you can be at one place and let your senses transport you to another, by recognizing a certain smell, taste or sound. In an instance you are back in that country where you have last had that sense sensation.

I created this blog for you to travel with me, whether you just want to sit at home and transport yourself only for those couple of minutes it takes you to read my blog or to gather some tips on where to go, what sites to see,  what to do and what not to do if you are in the fortunate position of planning a trip yourself.

I love helping people, in making their planning, getting ready and trips easier and flawless.

Come visit me here, to be taken on a free trip or two!

Travel regards
